The satisfaction of raising a garden has been overlooked and under-rated in our modern American culture. In pursuing our interest in gardening, we have found many things that work and many that, in spite of modern packaging and claims, don’t. We have addressed some of our needs by looking to the past when most people gardened as a way of life. The tools they used and depended upon for sustenance were developed and perfected over time through use. Sometimes, the quality of tools they used are no longer available because those tools are no longer viable in terms of mass production and economics. Making some of our own tools is our response to that dilemma.
